Overview:

This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast paced organisation as part of a new team in Cheltenham. We are looking for an event marketing executive to promote our portfolio of events to both visitors and exhibitors.

As well as being part of the Marketing Team in Cheltenham you will also be working with the Content and Operations departments, based in Chester, to develop and deploy compelling print, digital and live communications.

Responsibilities

  • Delivery of integrated multi-channel, marketing and communications plans, across a portfolio of events, to drive both acquisition and retention of visitors, exhibitors and sponsors, as well as enhancing brand awareness and value. All in a B2B environment.

  • Campaign planning and scheduling, from design to execution and analysis recording and testing data against agreed KPI's and segments.

  • Ensuring all marketing and communications activities are coherent and consistent in the message, tone of voice and adhere to the brand guidelines.

  • Work with the production team to design and produce marketing collateral. Ensuring comprehensive briefs are written.

  •   Write compelling copy for different collateral types and audiences across print, web, social media, and email.

  • Data segmentation for direct mailing, email marketing and telemarketing.

  • Use Hootsuite to schedule social media activity to support both visitor and exhibitor acquisition and retention strategies for our trade shows. Monitor results and provide monthly reports on activity.

  • Attend key industry exhibitions and trade shows.

  • Research competitor offerings and react when appropriate.

  • Write captivating press releases and then brief the press and PR teams, taking part in presentations where appropriate.

  • Stakeholder management including clear communications in a timely manner.

  • Support the Marketing team in all marketing activity, ensuring that all deadlines and targets are met or exceeded.

Essentials

  •  Proven experience in a B2B events marketing role essential; ideally in publishing.

  • Strong work ethic, positive attitude and desire to measurably impact results.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication/presentation/reporting skills with an understanding of how to communicate with different audiences.

  • Results orientated, team player with ability to multi-task and work calmly in a dynamic, fast paced environment.

  • Strong interpersonal and rapport building skills to interact with staff, colleagues and cross-functional teams, and third parties.

  • Impeccable organisation across multiple complex projects.

  • Demonstrable experience of working under pressure.

  • Analytical and able to derive meaning from data.

  • Good attention to detail.

  • IT skills: First class PowerPoint/Keynote. Competent in MS Office. Experience of using email service providers such as Mailchimp and CRM tools.

  • Education: Degree level or equivalent in Business or Marketing an advantage.

  • Languages: German, Mandarin or Spanish would be an advantage.

  • Travel: Overnight travel in UK and overseas will be expected in this role.
